Italy Says, "To Sir With Love" To OC Restaurateur

The Ordine al Merito della Repubblica Italiana (Order of Merit of the Italian Republic) continues a tradition that spans centuries of awarding worthy recipients who display exceptional merit in the fields of literature, the arts, economy, public service, and social, philanthropic and humanitarian activities.
Serato’s work with his nonprofit Caterina’s Club, which has served more than 442,000 meals to “motel” children, thus named because their poor, working class parents are relegated to living in low-cost motel rooms, earned him the highest-ranking honor of the republic.
