Oct. 17, 2012 - PRLog -- Grade school math teachers who are struggling with their methodologies are now using cool math games to assist them in teaching fundamental math lessons to children.

While there have been similar procedures in game forms introduced and launched many years back, the innovative and revolutionary math games now used in many institutions in the country have elicited recognition from the learned pillars of the educational system.

The benefits derived from these new teaching tools have outranked its predecessors by a mile and are expected to keep that position for a long while.

These math games provide parents and teachers with helpful instructions on what they could do to supplement mathematical lesson, including advice on how they can improvise certain techniques to fit their children’s learning capacity. As an added bonus, instructors get their own share of wisdom through the training tactics these media extend, which could be useful in their own homes, as they help their own kids accomplish their own math homework.

The developers of cool math games know just how frustrating it can be to get the attention of the children on a certain subject matter, which is why they crossed basic school lessons with innovative and exciting educational channels. With the new versions they are introducing, the students won’t be able to make out the difference from ordinary computer games, and they would in turn enjoy the learning process as a whole.

These cool games can be acquired in different ways. Schools can arrange for the game developers to install it in their computer systemsso that educators can control the learning process and minimize the risk of acquiring viruses, accessing malicious sites and coming across distractions on the web. Grade school students at Carlisle Elementary School in Boaz, Alabama are using a software-based individualized learning program, which was combined with the teacher’s instructions.

Baltimore County Public School have been using First in Math, a Math online program and the director of mathematics for pre-K to 12th grade, Pat Baltzley couldn’t be happier with the students “becoming very fluent in facts.”

Another school, Howard County Public School System in Maryland is currently using DreamBox Learning, a Web-based math game for kindergarten to third grade students. John SanGiovanni, an instructional facilitator of elementary mathematics in Howard County School found the games not only “engaging and motivating but in line with the way teachers want the kids to be taught.”

All schools reported that their math proficiency percentages went up after integrating the educational games in their curriculum.  And they have first-hand experience on how the cool games can change the ways that students engage with math content.
