Oct. 31, 2012 - PRLog -- Long Beach, CA —  Fresh off a “Best Soundtrack” win for their movie, “Halloween Party” at the Laughlin International Film Festival, producers Linda Palmer and Mark Cardone are partnering with Gigi de Lugo, CEO of Tropic Heat Studios, Inc., who recently facilitated the release of “Black Mozart “ by five-time Grammy award winner, Roy “Futureman” Wooten,  exclusively on the new Distrify platform.

“Gigi brings a wealth of experience with her to our project since she’s been researching and Beta testing this platform for years.  The fact that one of her clients is using it exclusively as opposed to any other mainstream distribution, is super exciting.  We've known we wanted alternative distribution since we started our project, and working with Gigi is the perfect fit for us.” states director / producer, Linda Palmer.

As a great Halloween treat, today the team launched a non-exclusive release utilizing Distrify’s software as the source of Video On Demand (VOD) and physical media sales connecting the fans of the movie and award winning soundtrack to potential buyers.  Everyone that shares the “Halloween Party” Distrify media player has the ability to earn a percentage of sales revenue de Lugo refers to as “fan roylaty”, automatically linked back to the fan via a unique affiliate code. “This is exactly the type of tool we need for our target buyers at Halloween retailers.  Imagine, now brick and mortar stores don’t have to carry a product (DVD) that has a high percentage of theft.  They simply put the media player/ store on their website and get paid every time any kind of purchase is made.” explains Palmer.

“Halloween Party” producers are set to attend more Halloween themed conventions next year, and anticipate adding to distribution already in place with direct retailers such as video stores, book stores, mega retailers. The film team’s recent strategy, in partnership with Tropic Heat Studios, Inc., is to capitalize on enthusiasm from the hundreds of thousands of social media fans of the  movie & soundtrack, by implementing the new Distrify software and fan royalty program.

The films’ soundtrack, produced and crafted specifically for “Halloween Party”, also includes a number of songs from Indie songwriters in Nashville.  Six of the soundtrack’s original songs are now being promoted in a campaign for Oscar nominations hoping to be nominated for a potential award.. “Halloween Party” has already satisfied its Los Angeles release and are intent on making sure Oscar voters know about the film.  Armed with Social Media marketing built-in to Distrify players, email marketing with Constant Contact & more, the producers intend to shine a spotlight illuminating independent artists from both Los Angeles & Music City, in a grassroots style of Independent Film & Music’s most organic sense of the word - revolutionary.

About The Film’s Team
“Halloween Party” was written, directed and co-created by Linda Palmer of Runaway Productions, a boutique production company specializing in low to moderate budget commercials and feature films. She studied film production at HFI, UCLA and Long Beach City College and this is her directorial debut for a major film project. Producer/co-creator Mark Cardone has an interest in photography, cinematography, and music production. Halloween Party marks the first project for Palmer and Cardone. Producer Sandy Robinson graduated from Cal State Long Beach where she earned a degree in Film and Television Production. Her contacts and experience led to subsequent leadership roles on television productions for Paramount, MGM, and Fox.

The film was shot entirely in the Belmont Shore neighborhood of Long Beach. Robinson brought on board eight CSULB students as interns who worked in various positions on the film including 1st AD, 2nd AD, special camera operators, sound assistants, grips, wardrobe assistant, and even extras in the film. The movie was shot in the producer’s homes, with many neighbors serving as extras, and even being cast as significant party-goers in the movie during the twelve-day shoot in July 2011. Local salon manager Tami Downs of The Loft on Broadway even used her home to house the makeup and hair crew, most of which were local stylists, for the shoot.
