Nov. 1, 2012 - PRLog -- Washington, D.C.--    The Jewish Lives Book Series (web: jewishlives.org), a new source for Jewish Biographies, announces that Mordechai Bar-On, author of Moshe Dayan: Israel's Controversial Hero will be on a US speaking tour October 29th  through November 4th. Bar-On, a historian at the Ben-Zvi Institute in Jerusalem, served as Moshe Dayan's bureau chief in the 1950's and was elected to the Knesset in 1984.  While he worked intimately with Dayan, Bar-On says, “In the 1970s, … our political paths diverged, and both my fascination with and my criticism of Dayan’s course after the Six Day War find expression in this book.”

“I am looking forward to this book tour in the United States and delighted my book is part of the Jewish Lives Biography Series published by Yale University Press" explained Bar-On. "My new biography of Moshe Dayan highlights the complexities of the hero who was both a brilliant military leader and a man who despite common perceptions...was not the sabra par excellence but a complex personality with an inquisitive mind.”
