Follow on Google News | A NEW charity dedicated to young people in MK is about to be launchedThe Young People are our Future project will benefit 25,000 young people in Milton Keynes.
By: Young People are our Future Designed to tackle some of the many issues facing young people today, the project will educate, inspire and motivate young people across the city. Young people from all corners of the city will be able to learn some important skills and have access to a variety of FREE activities that they ordinarily might not get the chance to participate in. Project leader Gary said: “This project will positively benefit thousands of local children, develop 120 life skills coaches from the local community and will involve 50 local community groups who will provide FREE workshops and seminars across the city”. At the heart of the project is the Life Skills for Children course, a non-physical educational experience allowing children to experience scenarios where they will naturally call on, and develop the skills to increase their confidence and ability to interact positively with those around them. The YPAOF team is providing 60 local schools with FREE Life Skills training and some after school activities linked to the project. The project will officially be launched on Sunday 2nd December 2012 at the Shenley Brook End School between 11:30am - 2:00pm. As with everything in the project this event is FREE. There will be a session on the life skills course and numerous free activities to participate in including martial arts, football, basketball, dance and singing. Help YPAOF make the launch a great success by inviting all of your friends. Young People are our Future is located within Exchange House, Midsummer Blvd in CMK and will provide life skills seminars and workshops in sport, dance, singing, drama and the arts in locations across the city.
