Nov. 19, 2012 - PRLog -- NSW is Making A Difference (M.A.D.) about homelessness and is assisting society in eliminating this horrific problem that is impacting citizens in America on every level. NSW looks to open its doors early to mid 2013 in the Atlanta metro area and your help is needed!

About NSW

The N.S. Weaver Restoration House and Outreach Mission (http://www.nsweaverrestoration.org), a subsidiary of The MITBU Program, Inc., is a comprehensive transitional housing program that provides a temporary home for single women and women with children who are disadvantaged and homeless. When asked what is the focus of the program? Ms. Dixon, Executive Director of NSW, stated, “The focus of the program is to empower single women, and women with children from various backgrounds and/or life experiences  with tools that will assist them in their journey back to self sufficiency. NSW cares about the whole person. Fragmented assistance meets partial needs but does not address the whole person. Thus this can cause a chronic or repeated homelessness or disadvantaged state.” Ms. Dixon further states, “Helping women and children in distress or in a homeless state is a high call; it takes societal participation to make this a reality.”  The NSW transitional housing program model is designed to provide a secure home for up to 18 months.  Empowering those who are willing to do the work it takes to move past the obstacles they are faced with is the goal.  During residency each person will be provided with financial literacy education. Each woman will be assigned a case manager who is also a life coach whose focus will be to provide one-on-one life coping skill training to include secular or spiritual counseling. Children will be provided with age appropriate development learning.  Programs will address self esteem, self worth, positive image development and parental guidance classes.  The NSW team experts will meet the women where they are in an effort to set realistic goals and objectives giving them a solid opportunity to obtain and sustain a quality life.

NSW Needs Your Help

The N.S. Weaver Restoration House is currently looking for a C1 zoned commercial facility to lease in the Metro Atlanta area to house single women and women with children.  Ms Dixon states “additional funding is required as we move forward with our quest to be a viable support and resource system. Monetary donations and volunteering are welcomed.  Even the smallest dollar amount or volunteering of your time can help this cause.”

Homelessness is not just a one-person problem it is a societal crisis in America. Uniting together to help those in need through these hard economic times is the right approach.
