Paul Haslinger, Composer for GOOD MEN, Short-Listed for the Prestigious Crystal Pine Award at the International Sound & Film Music Festival

SAMOBOR, Croatia - Sept. 22, 2024 - PRLog -- The International Sound & Film Music Festival (ISFM) will take place in Samobor, Croatia, October 11-13, 2024. The festival's mission is to promote awareness of the importance of music and sound as irreplaceable elements of film. The festival also provides visibility to audiovisual professionals who work in the field of composing music, sound design and sound mixing.

Composer Paul Haslinger has been shortlisted for this year's Crystal Pine award for Original Score for a Documentary Feature for his work in Director Bobby Roth's latest documentary film, GOOD MEN. Haslinger said of the experience, "Having worked with director Bobby Roth over a span of almost 40 years, this music is a testament to our friendship and our creative history together."

The opening of the score is stated on piano and incorporates Haslinger's electronic past with Tangerine Dream. In addition, Haslinger cites inspiration from the interviewees and their willingness to speak candidly and honestly about their life's journeys. According to Haslinger, "if Good Men is Bobby Roth's most personal work as a filmmaker, then this is certainly also my most personally felt score to date."

Paul has been Grammy- and Emmy-nominated, and he enjoys working across a wide spectrum of genres while maintaining his signature sound rooted in electronic music and sound design. Haslinger's film credits include Near Dark, Miracle Mile, Blue Crush, the Underworld Series, Shoot em Up, The Three Musketeers, Resident Evil: The Final Chapter. For Television, Paul has worked on Halt And Catch Fire, Fear The Walking Dead, Sleeper Cell, The Irregulars, and Amityville: An Origin Story.

In video games, Paul has scored Far Cry Instincts, Need for Speed and Rainbow Six Siege (with Ben Frost). Next to his soundtrack work, Paul has also released a number of albums, most recently the critically acclaimed Exit Ghost I & II, and the Neuland-project (with Peter Baumann).

His latest releases are Clerkenwell/BBC series SOMEWHERE BOY as well as Alex Winter's THE YOUTUBE EFFECT. He recently completed work on Paul W.S. Anderson's fantasy feature IN THE LOST LANDS and of course,  Bobby Roth's documentary GOOD MEN.
