WILMINGTON, NC - William Allred has been named Head Chef for The Boardwalk on Front Street, the hottest new spot downtown.

Chef Allred a native of Wilmington brings 13 years of experience to The Boardwalk. “I am excited about this opportunity and we will bring a lot to the Wilmington community,” said Chef Allred. He will be responsible for menu preparation, food inventory, training and overseeing cooks.

The concept behind The Boardwalk is a relaxed atmosphere that features a full restaurant, arcade, live stage entertainment, dance floor and bar. “There is nothing like this in Wilmington,” said Chef Allred. The Boardwalk will feature a traditional menu of boardwalk fares such as fried twinkies, cotton candy, hot dogs, as well as unique sandwiches, appetizers and salads. “The menu is going to be different, but interesting. The food will be served fresh and I want every customer leaving with a satisfied experience,” Chef Allred continued.

Not only is The Boardwalk a revolutionary concept that offers a unique atmosphere, it also offers a snapshot of history featuring authentic memorabilia and boardwalk planks from some of the most famous boardwalks in the world, including Coney Island. “I am happy to be a part of this from the ground up. The ownership group seems to be a great folks to work with and I feel this is going to be a long lasting relationship,” Chef Allred shared.

The hours of operation are Monday through Sunday from 11:30am to last call nightly.
