Lake Lanier Islands 20th Annual Magical Nights of Lights Continues to Sound of Cheers, Moos & Bahs

Nov. 28, 2012 - PRLog -- Following its electrifying debut on November 16, the 20th Annual Magical Nights of Lights at North Georgia’s Lake Lanier Islands Resort® has borne witness to a steady stream of cars nightly. Hundreds of cars, minivans, buses and golf carts filled to overflowing with adoring fans have toured mile-after-mile of animated holiday light displays that include the likes of the Twelve Days of Christmas, Snow Flake Bridge, Diamond Wonder Light and more. Countless children of all ages have delighted in visits to the Holiday Visit for a twirl on the Verizon Wireless Ice Skating Rink, rides at the Christmas Carnival, roasted marshmallows at the bonfires, and visits with Santa Claus in the musically illuminated Holiday House. The fun continues this weekend with the return of an old favorite and the start of a new one. Here’s just a snapshot of what will be going on at Lake Lanier Islands’ Magical Nights of Lights in the coming weeks:

Double Coupons Ends on Friday, November 30: To enjoy TWICE the savings of Magical Nights of Lights $10 off coupons, Friday night guests are encouraged to stop by participating Publix®, Chick-fil-A®, McDonalds®, QuikTrip®, Lenny’s Sub Shops® and Audi Gwinnett before their visit to Lake Lanier Islands front gate. This will be the last night to enjoy double coupons for $20 off admission to the Magical Nights of Lights! As always, admission to Magical Nights of Lights is priced per the carload – so guests are encouraged to load up the family wagon and make for the lake this Friday. With double coupons, an automobile holding 9 passengers could be admitted for as little as $4.44 per person.  An added bonus to using these coupons is that for every $10 off coupon presented at Lake Lanier Islands front gate, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to one of the charities supported by the Resort’s corporate partners.

Chick-fil-A Nights – Friday, November 30 through Sunday, December 2: The GREAT news is that although Lake Lanier Islands’ Double Coupon savings come to an end at 10 p.m. on Friday, November 30, they continue all weekend long for the lucky holders of a Magical Nights of Lights Coupon bearing the Chick-fil-A logo! Weekend guests are encouraged to drop by their favorite local Chick-fil-A to pick up a $10 off coupon for $20 savings off admission to Friday, November 30 through Sunday, December 2 shows. Visitors should bear in mind that Chick-fil-A will not be open on Sunday, so they’ll need to stop by for breakfast, lunch and/or dinner today through Saturday to pick up their $10 off coupon. Wait, it gets even better… the first 300 vehicles who pass through the Lake Lanier Islands gate during Magical Nights of Lights’ Chick-fil-A Nights will receive a coupon for a complimentary Chick-fil-A sandwich.

The Live Nativity Returns to Magical Nights of Lights on Saturday, December 1:  Back by popular demand! Lake Lanier Islands Resort is pleased to announce the return of the Live Nativity as a treasured part of the Magical Nights of Lights. This year’s Live Nativity is brought to the Islands by Free Chapel Church in Gainesville and will feature a regularly rotating presentation of the First Christmas with a beautiful stable scene, gifted re-enactors and live animals. The Live Nativity will be presented nightly beginning at 5 p.m. from December 1 through December 25. A representative from Free Chapel will be set up in a tent nearby to answer questions about the presentation and church.

Lighting of the Edmondson-Telford Angel Tree on Saturday, December 1: The Edmondson-Telford Center (ETC) for Children is a non-profit agency in Gainesville that is dedicated to providing hope to victims of child abuse. Lake Lanier Islands Resort invites guests to gather at the Holiday Village event tent for a truly magical night as the Angel Tree is lit – marking the start of ETC’s Angel Tree campaign to raise funds and awareness. Donations are 100% tax deductible and go to provide forensic examination services and support to victims of child abuse in Hall and Dawson counties. In exchange for their generous contribution, donors will receive a $10 off coupon to visit the 20th Annual Magical Nights of Lights. Donations can be made by calling the Center at 770-534-5151, by printing out a form from the Center’s website and mailing the donation, or by making a secure online donation at www.etcenterforchildren.org.  The Angel Tree Lighting event begins at 6:30 p.m. and will include live entertainment, as well as a special appearance by Santa Claus. At 7 p.m., Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Harry Douglas will light the tree.

Publix Nights – Friday, December 7 through Sunday, December 9: Guests bearing coupons with the Publix logo will receive TWICE the savings during Publix Nights. It’s a great time to drop by a Publix location for some groceries and pick up a $10 off coupon at check-out to save $20 off admission to the Magical Nights of Lights the weekend of December 7-9. To “sweeten” the deal even further, the first 300 vehicles through the front gate during Publix Nights will receive a special cookie recipe and cookie cutter!

Open nightly from 5 to 10 p.m. now through December 31, regular admission to the 2012 Magical Nights of Lights® is $60 per carload – for an SUV or mini-van that seats 7 or more passengers that could equate to less than $9 per guest! For larger vehicles, gate admission to the Magical Nights of Lights is $90 for ten to 19 passenger capacity vans; or $250 for 20+ passenger capacity buses. Magical Nights of Lights visits can be further enhanced with visits to Legacy Lodge’s nightly holiday buffet or an overnight stay at the Lodge complete with Breakfast with Santa*.
