Doctor's Approach Dermatology 20 Years Servicing the Mid-Michigan Area.

Dec. 6, 2012 - PRLog -- From a solo practice, Doctor’s Approach has grown to three divisions in health care including, a complete-care dermatology clinic, the only Mid-Michigan Medspa over seen by a dermatologist, and an award-winning skincare line developed personally by Dr. Street. With a staff of 22, including 2 dermatologists, a nurse practitioner, a physician assistant and 3 licensed estheticians, Doctor’s Approach is well established and respected throughout the Mid-Michigan area, attracting over 18,000 patients per year from all over the nation, including Canada, Africa and India. Doctors’s Approach has experienced a 20% average growth over the past 6 years and recently relocated into its new 12,000 square foot state of the art facility, a regional destination in Michigan for complete-care of excellence.

Dr. Street has been practicing dermatology in the Mid-Michigan area for 20 years and is the founder and Medical Director of the Doctor's Approach family of services. Graduating in three years from the University of Chicago Laboratory High school, she then completed her education at the University of Illinois College of Medicine. She is a board-certified, Mayo Clinic-trained dermatologist, and was the first fellowship-trained African American female Mohs surgeon in the United States. As a Mohs skin cancer surgeon, she specializes in skin cancer prevention, detection and treatment.

Within all of Dr. Street’s professional accomplishments, her commitment to helping others is what sets her apart. Away from her surgeries, Dr. Street is a mentor and leader in Michigan, making it a priority to devote her time and resources to others, especially young women interested in math and science. She gives back to her community in many ways, including fundraising for the Mid Michigan Medical Society Scholarship Fund, the Susan G. Komen Foundation, and countless free skin cancer screenings for the local community, to name a few.  

Dr. Street is an active member in medical and women based groups such as, the American Academy of Dermatology, Athena Win (Women’s Interest Network), American Medical Women's Association, Mayo Clinic Alumni Association, Inforum – a Professional Women’s Alliance, and the Michigan Dermatologic Society. She has been quoted in USA Today, Essence and Prevention Magazine, Detroit Free Press, Sophisticates Black Hair, Med Esthetics Magazine, and many others. She is a renowned researcher, published author, and frequently referenced expert on skin cancer and skin care.  She was featured on the national CBS show, "The Doctors", where she discussed the latest in Blu-Light therapy, a treatment for precancer and spoke in Amsterdam, at the World Congress on skin cancer sponsored by the Skin Cancer Foundation.

Over the course of her career, Dr. Street has demonstrated an extraordinary commitment to achievement and service.  Through her accomplishments, she has made significant contributions to the field of dermatology, elevated the status of women, and has inspired others to follow her example. Throughout her many extensive travels she has been a solid ambassador for women entrepreneurs, giving them the recognition they deserve.
