Follow on Google News | Christmas Spirit in Full Flow at Victoria Gallery and MuseumThe Victoria Gallery and Museum (VG&M) is celebrating for a number of reasons at present, with a brand new and engaging website coming online at just the right time.
By: Victoria Gallery & Museum In the build up to Christmas the VG&M has just opened a new display of sculpture from its permanent collection. ‘CJ Allen and the New Sculpture’ is on show in gallery 2, and features works from the late 19th and early 20th century, many of which have not been on display for a decade. Allen, who taught sculpture in Liverpool from 1894-1927, made many surviving sculptures in the city, including the Victoria Monument on Derby Square. In addition to this, there are a number of festive events such as Christmas carols and dinners taking place at the museum during the month of December. The lunches will be held in the VG&M café between Monday 3rd and Tuesday 18th December and run from mid-day until 3pm. A three course lunch is just £17.95 whereas two courses can be enjoyed for £14.95. All of this complements the already existing and free of charge exhibits at the museum, such as nightmares in a bottle, the world’s largest collection of false teeth and an intriguing archaeological dig. More information about any of the forthcoming events at the Victoria Gallery and Museum including downloadable menus and dates simply visit the website.
