Women United Flagler Announces Educational Series Oct. Speaker

PALM COAST, Fla. - Oct. 20, 2024 - PRLog -- Women United Flagler, an affinity group of Community Foundation & United Way of Volusia-Flagler Counties (CF/UWVFC), in collaboration with WARM (Women Assisting Recovering Mothers) and Flagler OARS (Open Arms Recovery Services), is pleased to announce its October topic and speaker for the group's "Women United Flagler Presents" series. The group welcomes special guest speaker Jaffy Lee, MBA, Emergency Manager, from the Florida Department of Health in Flagler County. Jaffy will share her expertise and provide valuable information on the comprehensive health and nutrition services available to families in our community. The event will now take place at 5:30 PM on Thurs., Nov. 14 at WARM/Vince Carter Sanctuary, located at 301 Justice Lane, Bunnell.

The event, titled "Empowering Women's Health: Comprehensive Services for Families in Flagler County," will highlight a variety of critical services offered through the Department of Health's Clinical and Nutrition Services. These services include adult and child health, dental and oral health, family planning, immunizations, maternity care, refugee and immigration support, and the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program. In addition, Jaffy will provide insights into the Florida Breast and Cervical Cancer Program and discuss eligibility requirements for accessing these essential services.

This talk will provide practical insights into how individuals and families can benefit from these programs, promoting healthier and stronger communities in Flagler County.

This event is free and open to the public. Attendees are welcome to bring a baby item for the babies that live with their mothers at WARM if they are able such as diapers, wipes, and most other baby necessities. Since its inception in 2009, Women United Flagler has raised and given back over $334,000 to the Flagler County community. Beyond the Power of the Purse, Women United Flagler is best known for their food-raising project Chicks with Cans.
