The AQ’s consistency and flow of melodious ideas are successfully implemented to make their first album a homogeneous musical work of art. 2010 brought the released of AQ’s original composition entitled,“GHOST” which was accompanied by the Quartet’s first professional music video release. The AQ endeavors to combine their explosive compilations’ Together, the Alternative Quartet embodies a modern, playful-like spirit and post-jazz written style: Andre’ Donawa is the lead violinist and founding member of the Alternative Quartet. Andre is a gifted composer and producer with a radical fusion of modern day and classical pieces. The versatility of the AQ under the guide of Andre’s influence creates a soul stirring vibration of sound. Andre is a three time champion of the National Music Festival in violins and was awarded “most outstanding instrumentalist.” Andre’ is an established key member of the National Youth Orchestra and was promoted to assistant Concert Master for summer workshops under the guidance of professional Venezuelan string tutors. In 2006 Andre’ was assigned as String Director of a governmental program which introduces stringed instruments to underprivileged youths. Forward, Andre received his Bachelor’s degree in Musical Arts at the University of the West Indies. Andre Comeau, is the 2nd violinist. He began his musical career at the age of seven and has become a member of the National Youth Orchestra. Andre won the National Music Festival in the Duet Category in 1999. Having completed grades 1-8 in violin, Andre is now pursuing his Art Degree at the University of the West Indies. As well as bringing dynamism to the AQ, Andre is a successful solo violinist in his own right, Andre also has a passion for art and uses both his bowed instrument and paint brush to serve those who underprivileged. Nariba Herbert is a multi award winning violist residing as the Principal violist at both the National Youth Orchestra and St. Augustine Chamber Orchestras, in Trinidad and Tobago. Nariba has performed on stage with Grammy® award winner, Kanye West and other well known vocal artistes’. As her unprecedented extraordinaire reputation in her field continues to grow, her classic expert talent blends a contemporary sound. Wasia Ward is the newest member to the AQ family and sets mark sparking sounds of which ignite from her cellist mastery. She is a multi-talented and diligent cellist who has been involved in music for most of her life as a Pannist, Singer and Pianist. She began playing the cello at the age of 16. Wasia serves as the principal cellist of the Trinidad and Tobago Youth Philharmonic orchestra and that of the St. Augustine Chamber Orchestra. Wasia completed her ABRSM grade 8 where she received her certificate of merit. Wasia has also won first place in the competition category of open cello solo for 2010’s Music Festival and has attended workshops in Venezuela, receiving master classes from some of the world’s most renowned cellists. ### The Alternative Quartet offers an extensive repertoire of classic and original musical pieces from a wide range of styles, genres and eras to suit any occasion.
