Swish Brings a World First in Mobile Payment Technology to Hong Kong

This fully mobile point of sale (mPOS) technology will facilitate secure card present transactions using a smartphone. At their launch event this past Monday, Swish CEO Steven Murray announced that they will be deploying a controlled roll-out into Hong Kong in partnership with Dah Sing Bank (http://www.dahsing.com/tc/html/index.html) in early 2013.

The Swish dual card reader is able to read both magnetic stripe and chip cards – a feature which makes it a world first in low cost mobile payment technology. During the initial launch phase, the card reader and payment app will be compatible with the following devices: iPhone 4S, iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPod touch (4th generation), iPod touch (3rd generation). The Apple iPad and Android devices will also be supported in the near future.

Swish’s proprietary technology includes all touch points required from start to finish of the transaction; this includes the mobile payment app with digital signature capture, fraud screening and merchant portal. Currently, Swish has obtained EMV certification in accordance with EMVCO standards and can accept chip and signature credit card payments. In addition Swish has CE, ROHS and Apple MFI certifications.
