Birstall builders limber up for winter

Jan. 4, 2013 - PRLog -- Local housebuilder Jelson Homes recently brought the gym to one of its new developments in a bid to encourage its builders to warm up for the working day through the winter months.

The leading housebuilder’s Birstall development, Hallam Fields, played host to Nick Jelly, owner of Nix Health and Fitness, in East Goscote, who helped to warm up the builders’ muscles correctly with some fun and easy fitness moves.

Taking time away from building the development, off Loughborough Road, the group of Jelson builders and decorators also had fun testing out gym equipment such as a stationary bike and a battling rope.

Jackie Woodward, sales manager for Jelson Homes, says: “The health and safety of our staff is of paramount importance to us. During the winter, the lower temperatures can lead to more physical injuries as people forget about how their muscles need to warm up. We want to help the builders see the importance of keeping active in order to do their job safely.”

Hallam Fields features three-, four- and five-bedroom properties, with prices ranging from £169,950 to £389,950. From traditional properties set over two storeys to three-storey townhouses, and semi-detached to detached homes, there is a variety of house types to suit all househunters’ needs.

Nick Jelley said: “I have really enjoyed teaching the guys some simple tips for warming up. It is something I’ve never done before, but making sure you are correctly warmed up before doing any physical activity is crucial to avoid injury.”
