As part of the agreement, ECN acquired all of Jacosoft’s intellectual property and technical resources. The acquisition adds hundreds of new clients to ECN’s thousands of existing client communities nationwide, as well as several client communities in Canada. The deal also included the transition of several staff members to ECN. “Our acquisition of Jacosoft provides us the opportunity to further consolidate mass notification solutions in the state and local government vertical to provide more consistent and reliable service to clients,” said David DiGiacomo, President of ECN. Existing DeltAlert clients will immediately benefit from the market expertise of ECN’s patented technology, including an industry leading location-based public safety application that keeps citizens informed no matter their location through advanced technology adapted for the smartphone. The CodeRED Mobile Alert software, written and exclusively hosted by ECN, allows clients to quickly and easily target their messages to exact geographic areas, protecting both citizens within a specific jurisdiction and those who may be traveling through the area. “This was a positive move for our clients, giving them lots of value-added features and increased system capacity,” said Jeremy Mattern MD, President of Jacosoft. The acquisition further strengthens ECN’s leadership position in the citizen notification business helping the company to strategically focus on servicing government agencies.
