CodeRED client named as guest speaker for FEMA IPAWS Practitioner Webinar

ORMOND BEACH, Fla. - May 14, 2013 - PRLog -- CodeRED client Sean Miller, who serves as Deputy Director of Delaware County EMA, was named a guest speaker for Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Integrated Public Alert and Warning System’s (IPAWS) webinar scheduled tomorrow, May 15, 2013 at 2 p.m. EST. The webinar, which is intended primarily for emergency manager practitioners, Emergency Alert System (EAS) participants and other interested IPAWS stakeholders, will help attendees establish and implement effective policies, procedures and exercises related to the IPAWS program.

Delaware County EMA, which services nearly 170,000 citizens in Delaware, OH, has been utilizing the CodeRED high-speed notification system since 2008, in addition to the CodeRED IPAWS interface since late last year when the county became an authorized Collaborative Operating Group (COG).  

“I see that WEA, through IPAWS, is very complementary to CodeRED. Using both, the citizen has better potential to be notified of an emergency in the area. And having the one source – CodeRED - to be able to launch to our database of citizens and those who may be passing through the area is a great feature,” Miller said.
