Since their founding in 2008, Vancouver’s Idea Rebel has been taking the lead in inventing creative web and mobile solutions for clients worldwide. Their success in 2012 has given them plenty to celebrate and they’re making plans for the New Year.

This past year has been the most successful year in Idea Rebel’s history; packed with awards, events, and projects that have shaped and defined their team. In July they opened their first Toronto office. Their small, agile team of rebels allows them to adapt to changing demands in the digital landscape. This year alone, they’ve had huge accomplishments with companies such as Quiksilver, FOX, Bell Media, and many more. Because of their achievements, they were awarded with the honour of BC’s Top Innovators of 2012. Also being nominated in the Successful You Awards, the Digi Award for Best Use of Social Media and finalizing in the BC Export Awards.

As a local company, they’ve made strides in being environmentally and socially responsible. By reducing waste, having paperless offices and using minimal light they have made headway in being a green machine. To give back to their community, Idea Rebel partnered with the Greater Vancouver Big Brothers, hosting the first Wake Day last summer. The event gave kids the opportunity to get out on the water and learn to wake board. Giving back to Vancouver’s youth was one of the most rewarding undertakings of the year.

What is the New Year bringing for this digital agency? With all of their recent success, they’re definitely not slowing down. They’ll be focusing on the growth of their Toronto location while opening another Idea Rebel office near the end of the year. This time it’ll be south of the border. Expansion into L.A will bring plenty of new opportunities for the growing company. A focus on mobile app development and mobile kiosk, location based digital interactions will bring their clients some awesome new projects. They’ve recently partnered with companies like Yokohama, Nature’s Path, Newegg, and now that NHL is back on, they’ll be hooking up with some hockey teams.
