Jan. 16, 2013 - PRLog -- Needham Bank, with branches throughout the greater Boston area has donated $10,000 to the Charles River Center to help offset the cost of construction of its new residential home on South Street in Needham.

The South Street home will provide housing for adults with developmental disabilities; plans are to tear down an existing home at the location and build a 5-bedroom, fully-accessible dwelling for adults with significant cognitive and physical needs.

The Charles River Center provides housing, employment, therapeutic and recreational programs for more than 500 children and adults with developmental disabilities from Needham, Newton, Dedham, Wellesley, Natick and other surrounding MetroWest communities.

“We are excited that we will be building a new home in Needham and we are extremely grateful for the financial support from Needham Bank and other businesses in our community,” said Maria McTernan, Director of Development at The Charles River Center. “This project is truly a partnership between The Charles River Center and the community to provide housing for those most in need.”

“It is our privilege to contribute to the Charles River Center residential home project,” said Mark R. Whalen, President and COO of Needham Bank.  “The Center is recognized as a leading human service provider in our region and we are delighted to be an active supporter of its mission.”
