Feb. 1, 2013 - PRLog -- Domenico Winery of San Carlos, is the FIRST California Winery to Sell Wine in New Jersey’s BYOB Restaurants and Tasting Room

Taking advantage of a recent change in New Jersey laws, Domenico Winery was the first out-of-state winery to open salesrooms to sell their California wines in BYOB restaurants and Tasting Rooms.  The new law, effective in May 2012, also allows direct shipments to customers.

Domenico Winery salesrooms in BYOB restaurants have been licensed in Clark (Bistro 1051), Madison (Rob’s Bistro),   Millburn (Basilico), Montclair (Palazzo), Morristown (J&K Steakhouse), Red Bank (Gaetano’s),   Ridgewood (Tre Voci) and Summit (Annas).  In Toms River, Domenico Winery was granted a license to open a wine Tasting Room where wine can be sampled and purchased.  Future salesrooms are being looked at in Brick, Hamilton, Hoboken, Manasquan, Little Falls and/or Flemington.   Long a local favorite in San Carlos and California, now these fine California-Italian wines from the Chirichillo family of New Jersey, can be found on the East Coast too.

The founder of Domenico Winery, Dominick Chirichillo, founded his winery in 2005 as a result of making wine in his grandfather’s basement when he was a boy.  In his grandfather’s honor the winery was named Domenico.  Also in his honor, Dominick continues the tradition of making small, high quality, handcrafted batches of wine with unique varietals at an affordable cost.  Domenico Winery makes 25 different varieties of wine and uses all California grapes from Napa Valley, Russian River Valley, Santa Cruz Mountains, Lodi, Amador County and others.

Dominick’s long time wish – to share his award winning Italian varietal wines with those living in his home state of New Jersey is coming true.  Dominick grew up in New Jersey and founded the Bacchus Winemaking Club in Toms River before moving his family to California to continue his winemaking career and open his winery.  Now he has returned to his roots and plans to open the maximum 16 salesrooms allowed by the State of New Jersey.
