Mardi Gras: From Bayou to Brooklyn

Jan. 23, 2013 - PRLog -- Join us at The Fabulous Jalopy Theatre and School of Music with Catahoula Cajun Band, Zydegroove, and the Hoo Doo Loungers for a Mardi Gras party to preview the 3rd Annual Bayou n' Brooklyn Music Festival. There will be beads, dancing and a party atmosphere as we enjoy the music of Mardi Gras' rural Cajun setting with Catahoula and Zydegroove and move to New Orleans with the Hoo Doo Loungers. Zydegroove, lead by accordion player Laren Droll, wants everyone to let their hair down, relax and move their feet to a zydeco beat. While they call the Hudson Valley their home, this band's heard is in the music of Southwest Louisiana. They're true to the deep roots of traditional country zydeco creating a funky spicy sound. The Catahoula Cajun Band splashes music of Southern Louisiana, and HooDoo Loungers set up a fast paced dynamic show with a three-pieced horn section that never fails to have you partying like you were in New Orleans.
