The CT Bankers Association award recognizes banking professionals who are rising stars in the industry and have made a significant contribution to their institution or community.
By: Litchfield Bancorp The Connecticut Bankers Association presented the award at the Bank World conference at the MGM Grand at Foxwoods on January 18. Tom Villanova, Litchfield Bancorp President & CEO noted, “Maura is a tremendous resource for our bank and the holding company for forward-thinking risk assessments. I can always count on her caring approach and solid leadership.” Malo joined Litchfield Bancorp as an Internal Auditor in 2003 after spending 10 years as a bank examiner with the FDIC. She was promoted to Chief Risk Officer in 2008 and is a part of the Litchfield Bancorp management team. She holds a BS in Business Administration, an MBA from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute at Hartford and is a graduate of the National School of Banking, a prestigious program governed by the American Bankers Association that is now part of the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. In addition to her bank duties, she is a member and past president of the Junior Women’s Club, committee member of Oliver Wolcott Library’s Festival of Trees, board of directors of Five Points Gallery, treasurer of the Litchfield Girl Scouts and is a Girl Scout Leader. She lives in Litchfield with her husband Steve and 2 daughters. End
