By: Ali Bushnell PR Coventry-born Stefan Lasek, 23, graduated last year with a BA (Hons) in Advertising and Marketing and has invented the ‘Accumalert’ The application has not been live for long but it has already been downloaded over 2000 times. The Accumalert app allows the user to track their selected football accumulators live and in-play. Stefan said: “It is something me and my business partner, Jay Russell, had been working on for a while and I applied for support from Coventry University’s SPEED * PLUS project to enable us to bring it to the market. “All you have to do with Accumalert is simply input your football selections from the UK & European competitions by choosing Home, Draw and Away results. Once all of your selections have been confirmed you can then begin to track the accumulators live by viewing the easy-to-view colour coded system. “ Accumalert is not used for placing bets, it is solely used to track bets live in-play once the desired games have been selected. The app-user can keep an eye on the football teams when on the go, so they don’t miss anything. Stefan added: “People can create and track as many accumulators as they like and the app is designed so it is easy to use and easy to track. For instance, winning selections will be highlighted ‘Green’ and losing selections will be highlight ‘Red’ – so people can see at a glance how their bets are progressing.” Feedback for Stefan’s app has been very positive, one user wrote: “This is a great app. Such a bargain freebie, so simple to use. Awesome for anyone that bets on the football.” Stefan concluded: “I am working on several other applications and hope to make some money from the other ones. Now people know what quality apps I am producing, they will hopefully download others in future that I will charge for. “This would not have been possible without the support from Coventry University’s SPEED Plus project which is run by the Institute of Applied Entrepreneurship. Not only did I get some financial help, but also assistance with business plans and everything else that I needed to know to enable me to set up in business.” For further information about Accumalert log on to www.accumalert.com -Ends- To contact Stefan Lasek direct, email Stefan at laseks@uni.coventry.ac.uk Note to editors: *SPEED The principle of the SPEED Plus (Student Placements for Entrepreneurs in Education+) project is to give current students and graduates the opportunity develop a business idea in a supportive environment alongside their studies or after graduation.
