Follow on Google News | ACTE launch Radiocrafts 169MHz modules for wireless M2M and telemetry applicationsACTE the U.K wireless specialist for Machine to Machine (M2M) and telemetry applications have announced the launch of a tiny form factor, low powered 169MHz module for long range, licence exempt wireless connectivity applications.
By: ACTE A/S Allowing simple interfacing via its UART, RC1700 allows customers to use an existing external MCU to work with the radio module. In common with the rest of the Radiocraft range, RC1700 has a common form factor offering pin compatibility with all other modules in the 169-2450MHz ISM band range. In its simplest form, only 5 pins are required. The first versions of RC1700 are integrated with an EN13757-4:2011 Wireless M-Bus stack and available in either standard 25mW output power or with integrated amplifier generating 250mW or 500mW output power. Other networking versions will be released in the coming months. RC1700 modules have an extended feature set to meet time critical requirements in two-way communication, can detect and receive both frame formats in parallel and support encryption on extended link and application layers. The RF module can be used integrated into a meter, concentrator for gateway applications or repeater. David Taylor, PR Manager of ACTE comments “The use of the licence exempt 169MHz frequency is great for developers of wireless telemetry systems as the lower frequency allows increased communication range, uses a a less saturated ISM band frequency and reduces overall system cost being a free to air service”. Radiocrafts designs, produces and markets high performance, high quality and cost-effective standard RF modules based on proven TI chip solutions for use in a variety of wireless short range applications. With over 15 years experience in the art of wireless communications, Radiocrafts modules are embedded, worldwide in 100’s of thousands of successful products in the consumer, industrial and automotive markets.
