Emma Watson: The Next Disney Princess?

March 3, 2013 - PRLog -- Magic seems to be Emma Watson’s forte. The actress might give up her Hogwarts robe for a beautiful ball gown and glass slippers.

The Harry Potter star is in talks with Disney to play Cinderella in an upcoming movie. Hollywood starlet Cate Blanchett has been roped in to play the evil step mother while the action packed remake is going to be directed by Kenneth Branagh.

The film was initially supposed to be directed by Mark Romanek but after Mark’s departure in January 2013, Kenneth was called in to fill his shoes. Rumour mills were also abuzz that Irish actress Saoirse Ronan was being considered for the role of Cinderella but it appears that Emma has the chance to don the glass slippers now.

This is not the first time Emma has been considered for the role of Cinderella, the actress was in talks to star in a Gothic-inspired musical version of Cinderella to be written and directed by Marilyn Manson.

Emma was last seen in “The Perks Of Being A Wallflower”. Her upcoming projects include Darren Aronofsky's "Noah” and a comedy "This is the End," where she shared screen space with Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg. Emma has also signed a David Yates film called "Your Voice in My Head."

All that has been revealed about Disney’s “Cindrella” is that it will release in 2014. The stars will begin shooting this fall.
