Seasonal Positions To Be Filled As Quassy Amusement Park Is Hiring

MIDDLEBURY, Conn. - March 12, 2013 - PRLog -- MIDDLEBURY, Conn. – Quassy Amusement Park, one of the area's largest seasonal employers, is now hiring for the 2013 season, which opens April 27.

 Applications are being accepted 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday at the park office, located near the Grand Carousel building in the 20-acre lakeside facility. Quassy is on Route 64 (2132 Middlebury Road) in Middlebury.

 Those interested may download and complete the employment application at Quassy dot com. The application is located under the About icon on the Jobs page. Applicants should be 18 years of age or older. No phone calls, please.

 Positions being filled include: grounds, mechanics, restroom attendants, games, arcade attendants, ride operators, food service, lifeguards, parking, customer relations and guest services representatives for corporate outings.

 The park will host a job fair 5 to 7 p.m., Thursday, May 16 in the Quassy Restaurant. Students returning home from college as well as other applicants will be interviewed for additional summer positions at that time.

 Quassy features more than 24 rides and attractions, including the award-winning “Wooden Warrior” roller coaster and the new “Crazy Cups” family tea cup ride. Other popular family rides include the “Free Fall ’N” drop tower, “Tilt-A-Whirl,” “Paratrooper,” “Trabant,” “Music Fest,” “The Big Flush” water coaster, "Yo-Yo" super swing and bumper cars.

 “Splash Away Bay” waterpark will open May 25 along with Quassy Beach. New water attractions include three slides plus a children’s splash pad.

 Also new for 2013 is the Quassy Quest Laser Maze, located in the huge arcade building. The pay-as-you-go attraction incorporates state-of-the-art laser beams that create a maze in a darkened room with patrons challenged to beat the clock without piercing any of the beams of light.

 There are complete kiddyland area for the younger generation, the “Grand Carousel” and “Quassy Express” train ride.

 All-day ride wristbands ($20.50 and $24.50) or individual ride tickets may be purchased.

 “Fabulous 50-Cent Friday” nights start May 24 with rides, hot dogs and soda only 50 cents each after 5 p.m.

 Paddle boat rentals and lake cruises on the Quassy Queen pontoon boat are also offered at the park.

  Dozens of popular skill and video games are located in the redemption arcade.

  Midway games, a variety of food booths and live entertainment at the Carousel Theatre help to round out a day at the traditional amusement park.

 Admission to the park is free with parking $6. Entrance to “Splash Away Bay” requires an all-day wristband purchase or separate $15 admission.

School Workshops And Outing Reservations

 Quassy is also the place of choice for company and group outings. Catered outings for 50 to 10,000 people are hosted in the privacy of the park’s group pavilions.

 Educational school fieldstrips are complemented by a variety of tours and programs designed for elementary through high school levels.

 The Birthday Party Fun Zone at the new Trolley Stop pavilion is available for private birthday parties and smaller group functions.
