More than 200 countries share the remaining 25%. China now accounts for 5.11% of world demand, which has surpassed the UK's share and is champing on the heels of German demand. There continues to be a drive for European businesses to invest in BRIC expansion, but there is real and deliverable opportunity within the EU for smaller firms who do not want the costs associated with “far-away” The Middle East is showing a small increase, but the way the numbers are calculated plays in favour of oil producing countries. Demand has increased considerably in the Far East in countries such as Macau and Laos, but India still continues to dominate that continent. The African continent remains stable with 0,8% world demand, though demand in South Africa has dropped to 30%.
