Austin, Texas was the place to be during this year’s SxSW Music Conference, and Texas singer/songwriter David Martinez and his band, currently the top alternative act in Corpus Christi, made it a week to remember, playing five exciting events.

Kicking off the festivities, David and the band performed at the PlanetLA and Whole Foods Dinner with Emily Reed from Nashville held at the Whole Food Offices.

The band’s next event was the Digital LA SxSW Party with The Color Pharmacy from Minneapolis
at Parkside.

Ten bands including The David Martinez Band performed at the No Parachute Music Showcase held at Roadhouse Rags sponsored by Texas Music Water and Rahr’s Brewery. We were happy to have David attend the ATN Showcase put on by Red Boot PR to visit our friends Jason Adamo and Keaton Simons at the Bayou Lounge. Some wonderful photos were taken by our friend Michael Castro of Nova Nation Entertainment.

David then did some acoustic shows- one at the Texas Indie Fest at the Red Shed Tavern presented by Match 1 Entertainment and MC'd by Lavert Rodgers of Brag It On Promotions. Performers included Jason Jeka, Bumpin Uglies, Bond & Bentley, and 100 Proof Justice.

David’s final SXSW performance was a song with his old touring partner, Jimmy Willden at the NewTek Private Party. Many thanks to Philip Nelson for including us on stage that evening along with performers Dylan Taylor and The Dolly Rots.

Expect to see David Martinez returning to SXSW in 2014!
