Groove with Pretty Girls Band at the Surfers for Autism Beach Festival

DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla. - April 1, 2013 - PRLog -- Move over Beach Boys – a new sound is making waves at the Sixth Annual Surfers for Autism (SFA) Beach Festival. This Friday, April 5, Pretty Girls, a local indie rock trio, will showcase their talent while helping raise autism awareness in South Florida.

This year, the Surfers for Autism Beach Festival (https://www.facebook.com/events/542591569103585/) begins Friday, April 5 at 5pm and runs through Sunday, April 7 at 4pm. The event is open to the community in an effort to raise money and awareness for Autism.  Along with the surfing lessons and a special, fun-filled day for the registrants and their families, the SFA festival features live bands, water sports, games, food and prizes.

On Friday April 5, the fun begins for the surfers at 9am and then features an after party from 5pm to 9pm, where patrons can groove to the sounds of top bands from across South Florida, including the philanthropic band, Pretty Girls. Since emerging in 2012, Pretty Girls has not only rocked the music scene across South Florida, but they continue to donate their time and unique sound to worthy causes, like Surfers for Autism and - last month, a benefit concert for the animal charity, Luv-A-Pet.

Surfers for Autism began on the north side of the Deerfield Beach Pier in 2008, when 40 surfers with autism caught some waves and raised more than $10,000 to benefit autism associated charities. The organization has since hosted events in several locations on Florida’s East Coast, and single events have registered as many as 200 surfers and raised as much as $20,000.
