By: MR FOUR FINGERS The opening night, of the exhibition is taking place on the 5th of April at the Haggerston Espresso Room, in Haggerston, East London. The venue is an intimate coffee shop/gallery space which is a little unconventional compared to your regular London galleries and Mr Four Fingers is hoping that this will make their work more accessible to the public. These are guys who like to go against the grain and their first attempt at curating their collection of work sounds inviting with the inclusion of DJ’s, cakes, free alcohol and even shots of Tequila plus the first 10 people to spend £30 or more receive a free gift bag. Mr Four Fingers commented on the up-and-coming event: “We’re excited to be showing our collection of art, illustration and t-shirt design to the world in our first solo show. Our ideas and illustration, which have been spawned from the darker realms of our human psyche, convey images with dark undertones, visions of mortality and representations of who we are underneath. Plus we just like making cool shit.” Original work and Limited edition prints from Mr Four Fingers have already been featured at the Curious Duke and Brick Lane Galleries this past year and a solo show is the obvious ’ next step’ for a determined pair who are producing new work at a rapid rate. The show also sees collaborations with Elizabeth Dunn, an up-and-coming fashion label and In Her Glory, creator of crude knitted cushions and dark crafts. Mr Four Fingers added: “We never imagined we would be doing anything like this. We started Mr Four Fingers as a playground for our ideas and now like some weird science experiment the beast has learned to walk.” Go and share a beer with them on their opening night and view their story which has been told through a mix of inks, illustrations and skulls.
