UHY Advisors Offers Project Management Professional (PMP®) Training in Atlanta April 15th – 17th

PMI’s Project Management Professional (PMP®) credential is the most important industry-recognized certification for project managers

ATLANTA - April 4, 2013 - PRLog -- UHY Advisors, Inc. (http://www.uhyadvisors-us.com/uhy/) today announced it will begin offering training classes for the highly regarded Project Management Professional (PMP®) certification (http://www.pmi.org/Certification/Project-Management-Professional-PMP.aspx). The certification is offered through the Project Management Institute (PMI), which sets the standards for project management. UHY is offering business professionals a chance to enroll at a 25 percent discount, and open enrollment is underway.  In addition, CPAs participating in this training are eligible to receive up to 32 hours of CPE credits.  The first set of classes will be held in Atlanta from April 15 – April 17.  Subsequent training sessions will be held in Michigan and Texas later in the year.

UHY Advisors’ Principal Cindy Hannafey, CPA, PMP, will lead the training, preparing business professionals for the PMP® exam.  The exam preparation includes the following topics:

·       Five Project Management Process Groups

·       Nine Project Management Knowledge Areas

·       Professional Responsibility

·       Process Inputs, Tools and Outputs

UHY Advisors is working with Velociteach, the esteemed provider of PMP® classes, to administer the training.  Hannafey is a professional instructor for Velociteach’s 3 Day Pass the PMP®.

“PMP certification is relevant for any business professional who routinely manages projects,” said Frank Fenello, managing director for UHY Advisors Southeast.  “Recent data has shown professionals who complete the prep classes are twice as likely to pass the exam.  Our principal, Cindy Hannafey, has extensive experience preparing professionals for this exam and equipping them with the knowledge to more effectively project manage for their organizations.”

“It’s important that project managers take advantage of the PMP® training and exam now,” said Hannafey. “The next version of the PMP certification exam will be released July 31st of this year, with completely new content. Particularly if they’ve already invested time in studying for the exam, I encourage our clients to complete training now and take the exam before July 31st.”

Released in March, PMI's Pulse of the Profession™, the annual global survey of project management professionals, revealed that organizations risk an average of $135 million for every billion dollars spent. Those that implement certain best practices, among them effective project management, risk 14 times less than those that don’t, revealing the true value of PMP® certification for companies.

Hannafey has more than 20 years of experience in accounting, finance and IT project management, and execution.  Hannafey is focused on the Portfolio, Program and Project Management practice for the firm:

·       Portfolio Management Strategy – Developing a portfolio of projects that meets long-term goals and strategies

·       Program Management – Running a Project Management Office (PMO), which includes managing vendors and multiple related projects

·       Project Management – Running a project engagement on a company’s behalf

This PMP® certification training class will take place 4/15 – 4/17 at the City Club of Buckhead, 3343 Peachtree Road NE, Atlanta, GA 30326.

PMI’s Project Management Professional (PMP®) credential is the most important industry-recognized certification for project managers. Globally recognized and demanded, the PMP® demonstrates that you have the experience, education, and competency to lead and direct projects.

This recognition is seen through increased marketability to employers and higher salary; according to the PMI Project Management Salary Survey–Seventh Edition, certification positively impacts project manager salaries.
