LOUISVILLE, Ky. - April 10, 2013 - PRLog -- Kosair Charities and 18 other private & public children’s agencies are bringing April’s Child Abuse Prevention Month upfront and personal this morning with the launch of its groundbreaking new ‘Face It’ child abuse prevention campaign. This critically important child advocacy initiative is an all-out call to action for conscientious citizens to raise awareness and help fight child abuse in Louisville and the Kentuckiana region.

“Our 90+ year heritage is all about helping children in need and the ‘Face It’ campaign is an extension of that to assist victims of abuse and those at risk,” states Jerry Ward, Kosair Charities chairman of the board. “And with community-wide support such a critical component of the campaign, we urge the public to join our movement to amplify awareness and help eradicate the suffering.”

“The Face It Campaign is a compliment to the courage and vision of Kosair Charities,” said Terry Brooks, executive director of Kentucky Youth Advocates. “This campaign offers a real source of hope for kids in Louisville and across the Commonwealth.”

Today also marks the launch date for www.faceitabuse.org, a repository of vitally important information that will provide the tools for citizens and organizations alike to support the decade-long Face It initiative.  Content includes Resources for Education; Face It Prevention Forum hosting opportunities; Face It Ambassador opportunities; instructional areas with user-friendly tips to keep child abuse top of mind and include such topics as “How to intervene if you are aware of, or witness, child abuse”; plus proprietary Donation and Volunteer pages.
