Leuze Electronic Announces Functional Product Enhancements For The Light Beam Safety Device Series

NEW HUDSON, Mich. - April 23, 2013 - PRLog -- These new product enhancements for the Leuze MLD series were designed for efficiency with easy integrated laser alignment and flexible mounting.

OSSD Output indication

The new multi-colored status indicator ring is a practical aid for daily operation, displaying the OSSD state as well as the muting state that can be seen over long distances which is a clear advantage for smooth operation.   The combination of both these features, with the OSSD message output, direct and simple diagnosis is made possible both visually as well as via the downstream PLC.

Range Reduction

The user can switch the operating range and reduce it from 50m range to 20m.  This function is important if there is a potential of optical cross talk between adjacent protective fields, i.e. the transmitter of one system influences the receiver of an adjacent system.

Visible Laser Activation

Also convenient and efficient for the user is the ability to now activate the alignment laser of the safety sensor with a button in addition to the MagnetKey.

OSSD Status Output

The status output is now available for monitoring purposes by the control system.

These functional enhancements are in production immediately and will appear in all new product fulfillments.
