Spirit & Flesh Magazine to Decide Runway Competition Winner at 2013 Fashion Front Awards NYC

Celebrating it's 3rd annual year, the 2013 Fashion Front Awards NYC is an exciting event honoring emerging stars within New York's thriving fashion community. The 2013 Fashion Front Awards NYC (http://FashionFront.LawrenceBlake.com) will feature creative runway presentations from rising local fashion designers including Felix Anaman, House of Antoinette 1950, Stacy A. Lawes, Fabiola Brunache, Loraimy Rodriguez, and HB Designs – all of whom have proved their commitment to their communities through service. Choosing a winner of the event's runway competition is our celebrity guest judge panel, including Spirit and Flesh Magazine co-founder Yelena Deyneko, award-winning photographer Kah Poon (www.KahPoon.com), and Spirit and Flesh Magazine Fashion Director Emily Lentz Jenkins. The 2013 Fashion Front Awards NYC is proud to benefit, ProjectArt, an NYC-based free arts education organization that allows youth to create art without limits (www.projectart.org). The 2013 Fashion Front Awards NYC will be hosted by Australian TV host, actress, and former co-host of MTV's Total Request Live Lyndsey Rodrigues.

The 2013 Fashion Front Awards NYC is pleased to confirm a speech from Daniel Silverstein, founder of eco-fashion label, 100% NY (www.100percentny.com), and one of thirteen successful designers on NBC’s reality competition series “Fashion Star”. At the 2013 Fashion Front Awards NYC, several individuals will be recognized for their dedication and support of emerging fashion talent, including An Vu, founder of popular retailer Bio NYC (www.Bio-NYC.com), Carrie Hammer, professional wardrobe stylist extraordinaire and founder of www.CarrieHammer.com, and dress shirt hero Seph Skerritt, founder of Proper Cloth (www.ProperCloth.com). A keynote speech is confirmed by Loni Edwards, founder of The Stitch Collective (www.StitchCollective.com). Several recognition awards will be presented to rising members of the fashion community including models, hair stylists, make-up artists, and more. The winner of the 2013 Fashion Front Awards NYC's runway competition will take come a 1-year public relations contract with communications firm Lawrence Blake Group Int'l, a retail sales contract with Bio NYC, and a print editorial spread featured in Spirit and Flesh Magazine shot by internationally recognized photographer Kah Poon.

Hosted at internationally recognized Lair NYC, Executive Chef Chris Cheung, known for his “Evolutionary Chinese Cuisine” is inviting guests to enjoy complimentary appetizers from 8 PM – 9 PM, and there will be no shortage of delicious specialty cocktails at the bar. Live music performances are scheduled by emerging recording artists DonZell Crow, and GMims.

ProjectArt is an award-winning organization developing a new model of arts education, one that allows youth to actualize their artistic visions while building their self-esteem and advance as all-around achievers. In two years, ProjectArt’s year-round, after-school visual arts education program has served hundreds while it's advocacy initiative Walk the Talk, has brought awareness for the critical need of arts education, to hundreds of thousands of people. ProjectArt was founded by Adarsh Alphons in 2010.

Singapore native Kah Poon moved to New York in 1995 for internships with Joyce Tenneson and Annie Leibovitz. Kah was later hired by Tenneson and worked with her for 4 years before branching out on his own. Some of Kah’s clients include VH1, London Fog, Ernst and Young, Polaroid, Fuji Film, J. McLaughlin, Essence, Spirit and Flesh and The New York Times. In 2012 Graphis (www.graphis.com) selected Kah as one of the top 100 photographers. Additionally, Kah has received awards from Polariod, Communication Arts, 10 Best 10, Fuji Film, Hasselblad and Adobe.

Yelena Deyneko has always had an eye for the arts. Studying Classical Art, Theater, and Fashion Design at university in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, she then came to New York for a degree in Graphic Design at New York's School of Visual Arts. Throughout her life, Yelena has combined her many talents and passions to become the award-winning creative director she is today. Her latest conquest is Spirit & Flesh Magazine, the successful edgy fashion and lifestyle magazine of which she is co-founder.

Moving to New York in 2010 Emily Lentz Jenkins quickly found a foothold in the fast-paced world of the city. Wanting a career as a freelance fashion stylist, Emily has done more than just stay true to her goals. She has contributed to many well- known publications including L'Officiel Ukraine, Dossier Journal, S Magazine, New York Post, Galore and Wired. Emily became the Fashion Director for Spirit & Flesh Magazine in 2012.
