Cohen, Recreation and Parks Director Brian Woodward, and skate board enthusiasts from across Annapolis, invite you to join Pure Board Shop owner Robby Roberts to help clean up, and open up, the Truxtun Skate Park. On Saturday, May 11, the city will host a volunteer workday to make repairs to the ramps, boxes, rails and hardware that constitute the Skate Park. The Annapolis Recreation and Parks Department will provide all of the construction materials, but need interested volunteers to tighten bolts, hammer nails, carry lumber, and renovate our park to its original condition. Pure Board Shop will be having free raffles for skate products and will host a BBQ lunch to thank the volunteers for helping rejuvenate the skate park. To volunteer, please show up at 200 Pumphouse Road, in Annapolis, at 9 a.m. Please wear sturdy shoes, no open-toe shoes or flip-flops and bring work gloves and eye protection if available. The City of Annapolis, Pure Board Shop, and skaters from Annapolis have partnered to create an area for local skaters to gather and share their enthusiasm for the sport in a safe and pleasant environment. If you have questions please call the Department of Recreation and Parks at 410-263-7958 or Pure Boardshop at 410-267-7669. pureboardshop.com End
