Motivational Speaker Raises From Near College Failure to Sharing Wisdom at Disney Dreamers Academy

HOUSTON - May 1, 2013 - PRLog -- Motivational speaker and author Jonathan Sprinkles recently completed participation in the 6th annual Disney Dreamers Academy at the Walt Disney Resort. The four day program held March 7th-10th strives to provide youth an opportunity to learn how they can harness the power of their dreams. One hundred “dreamers” aged 14 to 18 participated in life-enriching interactive workshops and motivational talks while exploring countless possibilities and were provided the tools they need to jumpstart their dreams into reality. Topic sessions included “Dream Big”, “Dreams, Passions and Possibilities” and “Power of a Dream.”

“My message was "Getting Connected to Your Dream," says Sprinkles.  "It's unfair to tell a child to dream big, but not show them how to do it." Often candid about his own trials and triumphs, Sprinkles was one semester from failing out of college when he heard a speech by best-selling author Dr. Dennis Kimbro that changed his outlook on life. Upon hearing Dr. Kimbro, Sprinkles realized that what he ultimately wanted to do was not only to inspire people but also give them the actual steps to make them successful. Sprinkles attributes his successes as a result of relationships that have been nurtured along every phase of his career.

Sprinkles was one of ten luminaries selected for the Speakers Resource Group and shared this distinction with Grammy Award winning singer Yolanda Adams, sports journalist and ESPN host Stephen A. Smith, and E! News host Terence J. Members of the Speakers Resource Group were selected as ambassadors of Disney Dreamers Academy and share the common goal of inspiring youth to believe in their dreams. Additionally, the group champions Disney Dreamers Academy in a variety of ways from participating in a panel selecting the 100 students to attend the flagship event at Walt Disney World® Resort to offering insights about the four-day event curriculum. They will also collaborate with Disney in extending the program content into relevant community, educational and entertainment platforms.

“When I saw these young people, I was impressed by their courage to aspire to be greater than their current circumstances. I am proud to be a part of that process,” adds Sprinkles. “Regardless of your age, being around someone with a dream inspires you to dream bigger and work even harder to make the dream happen.”

A National College Speaker of the Year voted by members of the Association for the Promotion of Campus Activities, Sprinkles has quickly become recognized as one of the most sought-after and well-respected speakers and entrepreneurs in the country. The author of 10 books, informational audio projects and countless articles including USA Today, his writings have been published internationally and are frequently cited by industry experts. He is a business graduate of The University of Texas at Austin. His most recent television experience was on HLN network: “Raising America” and “Making it in America” on April 5th, 2013, where he shared his personal views on current hot topics.
