OmniMD™ Is Finalist in Patient Portal for New Yorkers Challenge

TARRYTOWN, N.Y. - May 1, 2013 - PRLog -- OmniMD™ has been named a finalist in the Patient Portal for New Yorkers Challenge, a design competition held by the New York eHealth Collaborative (NYeC). The public presentations will be held in New York City on April 30 and in Buffalo on May 2.  Winners of the competition will be announced on May 13.

“We are excited by this recognition for our OmniMD medical software developers and eager to show how our patient portal can enhance patient access to their health records online,” said Divan Da’ve, CEO and President of Integrated Systems Management, Inc., and its OmniMD division. OmniMD provides electronic health records, revenue cycle management solutions, and other medical software and services to over 11,000 providers.

“Designing a patient portal to the specifications of NYeC is a great fit with our expertise in developing electronic health records (EHRs) and other software for medical practices,” Da’ve said. “We are proud to showcase our portal at the public presentation in New York City.”

NYeC asked designers and developers to submit patient portal prototypes, and the general public was encouraged to vote for their favorite portals based on user friendliness, format and design.  The finalists will show their prototypes to a panel of selected patients, physicians and experts who will evaluate each prototype and select a winner.

Each  presentation will demonstrate the various features of the patient portal, show five important use cases (Ease of Login, Consent Modification, Audit Access, Medical Record Access, Patient Inbox), and why the features are important and unique.  After the competition, NYeC will begin building the portal and coordinate its function on top of the Statewide Health Information Network of New York (SHIN-NY), a secure network for sharing clinical patient data across New York State via Regional Health Information Organizations (RHIOs.)

The Patient Portal will allow patients to access their personal health information online, safely and securely.  Once patients log into the portal, they will be able to see who has viewed their medical records as well as grant access to select providers to view their medical records online.
