Author, Leadership Expert Heath Suddleson to Deliver Session at Toastmasters District 83 Conference

POTOMAC, Md. - May 14, 2013 - PRLog -- Heath Suddleson, Toastmasters Past International Director (PID) and Business Executive, travels from Potomac, MD to present the workshop based on his book “The Attitude Check – Lessons in Leadership” at the Toastmasters International District 83 Annual Spring Conference planned for Saturday, May 18 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Newark Airport, 128 Frontage Road in Newark, NJ.

Join Heath for a look at what makes leadership styles effective and how simple changes in attitude can have tremendous impacts on results.  These lessons can be applied to volunteers and paid staff alike, because these lessons were learned by examining the similarities and differences between volunteers and paid staff.  Several leadership styles will be examined as well as the attitudes that affect the outcomes.

Hundreds of Toastmasters members in the Metropolitan New Jersey, Rockland County, Staten Island area — as well as their family, friends, and the general public — will gather together to attend educational presentations on how to sharpen their public speaking, communication and leadership skills.

In addition to the conference educational sessions, District 83’s top-notch speakers will compete in the District 83 International Speech Contest scheduled for Saturday and the District 83 International Evaluation Contest for Sunday morning. About Heath Suddleson

Heath Suddleson holds the title of Distinguished Toastmaster through Toastmasters International, and served as a Director on the organization’s International Board of Directors from August 2009 through August 2011.   Heath was one of only 14 individuals from around the world to hold this position at any given time.  Each year only 7 new Directors are elected.  His role as a Director was to help shape the strategic direction for this global organization serving over 250,000 members in 116 countries.  Mr. Suddleson was also responsible for conducting training sessions and mentoring the organizations emerging leaders.  

Professionally, Heath is a Principal member of the corporate project controls team for a global engineering and construction company where he is responsible for reviewing and revising policies, as well as the development and delivery of training programs, which he has delivered on 5 continents.  Heath has more than 20 years of managing complex design and construction programs worth more than US$20 Billion in total.  In his career, he has represented the Owner, the Architect, and the General Contractor.  His responsibilities often include dispute resolution to keep claims out of litigation.
