Miscota Expands to Babycare, Aiming to Replicate the Success of Quidsi

 
May 28, 2013 - PRLog -- Miscota, the Catalonia-based online retailer has set up a grand expansion plan to strengthen its presence in the European market.

After the successful start of their first site, which can now boast with a tremendous selection of 30 000 products, the company has opened its second. Beibito, the maternity and baby store, is being used to increase the portfolio and product mix.

The firm is keeping its focus on Europe to make the most out of the commercial contacts and structure that was started 17 months ago along with the company. These channels will be used to promote the main brand “Miscota”, to engage new customers by entering different sectors and in turn using the new customers to create awareness for core “Miscota”.

The launch of Beibito took place in the following countries: Spain, Italy, France, UK, Germany, Portugal, Netherlands, Austria, Luxembourg and Belgium. Meanwhile advancements were made in marketing and logistics to further increase the volume of sales and to prepare to enter new markets. This expansion is being used to aid in improving the company’s high level of service and to increase the amount of new quality products at the best price while not forgetting the importance of speedy delivery.

The new store started with 2,500 different products and is expected to end the year with about 100 000 active references. Brands such as Chicco, McLaren and Romer are just a handful of the wide assortment on offer.
“We do realize that we have a long way to go, so to make it faster and more efficient we are following the prime example of the American Quidsi. They started with just Diapers.com and see where they are now. After we release Beibito, we will expand our portfolio even further and start to plan a second headquarter. This strategy will open the whole of Europe to us.” Albert Costa, the CEO of Miscota.
