Mad Satta, (http://youtu.be/xDnerAVg05s),  is at the forefront of a new movement in Soul and R&B music. This eclectic, eight-piece band merges elements of old-school soul with hip-hop, rock, and jazz creating an intriguing paragon.

Founded by Teters and bassist Ben Carr in 2010, Mad Satta has assembled some of the most promising young musicians around New England to produce a powerful, unforgettable performance.

Teters’s musical roots are deep in funk, reggae and jazz. She is joined by Carr, keyboardist Kevin Theodore, guitarist Ted Morcaldi, multi-instrumentalist and drummer Zane West, Collin Wade on alto sax, Eric Zeiser on trumpet and Jason Fitch on tenor sax.

Chianti Jazz Lounge will sponsor the performance.

Two more SJSF/Berklee Summer Series concerts will take place this year: Albino Mbie on July 13; and Nick Hakim on Aug. 10.

The seventh-annual Salem Jazz and Soul Festival will follow during the weekend of Aug. 17-18, featuring 12 bands, a kids’ tent, music-education tent, artisan fair and 21-plus beer pavilion. The two-day concert is free.
