AEM ETi Intake System Becomes 50 State Legal for 2013 Scion FR-S and Subaru BRZ

HAWTHORNE, Calif. - June 3, 2013 - PRLog -- AEM intakes, a pioneer in cold air intake manufacturing and design, is pleased to announce that as of March 2013 the California Air Resource Board has granted AEM’s 41-1408DS air intake system for the 2013 Scion FR-S 2.0L and the 2013 Subaru BRZ 2.0L an Executive Order. Now AEM customers in all 50 states can install the 41-1408DS and benefit from the estimated gain of 10 horsepower and 8 ft-lb of torque at 6500 RPM.

Both the Scion FR-S and the Subaru BRZ come standard with a 2.0L DOHC VVT engine resulting in 200 horsepower and 151 ft-lb of torque. With that much power in such a lightweight vehicle it’s easy to understand why the automotive enthusiast would be itching to get behind the wheel. To further increase horsepower and performance of the Scion FR-S and the Subaru BRZ AEM offers the 41-1408DS ETi air intake system. These include a High Density Poly-Ethylene (HDPE) air intake tube that is designed to decrease restriction and increase horsepower, cold air box and Dryflow Synthetic air filter, as well as all hose clamps and connections necessary for easy installation.

The AEM cold air box helps isolate the air filter from any under-hood engine heat, protecting the much desired cold air that comes from the outside of the vehicle from being “heat soaked” by the hot under-hood temperatures, thus helping to increase performance.  And now the 41-1408DS air intake system has received exemption from the California Air Resource Board for the 2013 Subaru BRZ and 2013 Scion FR-S 2.0L. This exemption means that the intake system is street legal in all 50 states for these vehicles. Additionally, the 41-1408DS air intake system, is also backed by AEM’s lifetime limited warranty.

The 41-1408DS air intake system utilizes AEM’s ETi (electronically tuned intake system) technology to improve air flow, increase horsepower, and reduce restriction; all while not setting a check engine light. AEM’s ETi Intake system allows engineers to “super tune” an engine for even more performance by eliminating the need to down-size the tube, which can reduce the overall airflow and horsepower for the engine. Instead, the ETi electronically communicates with the MAF sensor and vehicle’s computer to ensure that an accurate amount of fuel is being delivered, even though the tube is larger in size than the stock system. This means the vehicle maintains the calibration as designed by the factory while still gaining the benefits from our custom designed aftermarket air intake system.
