Shore Lanes Bowling Center Rises From the Ashes to Provide Jobs and Entertainment for Merritt Island

MERRITT ISLAND, Fla. - June 7, 2013 - PRLog -- Like a phoenix rising out of the ashes, Shore Lanes officially re-opened last month to create jobs and entertainment for the local community.

“We had to reopen after the fire,” said owner AK Patel. “Not only did we have 27 employees who depended on us for the livelihood of themselves and their families, but the community also needed us.”

Merritt Island has seen an influx of senior citizens to the community over the last few years. Many of them found entertainment and a source of fitness from bowling at Shore Lanes in Merritt Island FL.

“The seniors in our community really counted on us for some fun and exercise in their lives,” Patel said. “Without Shore Lanes, there would not be a place for them to enjoy some entertainment.”

Patel admits he was offered money not to let the center reopen. However, the faces of his customers and the need of the community made the decision simple.

“No amount of money could have stopped me from opening up this true community center,” he said. “Sometimes it is not all about the money. It is about being a good community citizen and doing what is right for our neighbors. For as long as I live, Shore Lanes will be here to provide access to fun for all residents of Merritt Island.”
