Superman’s ‘Ursa’ Helps Launch New Crowdfunding Campaign

WEST HILLS, Calif. - June 10, 2013 - PRLog -- Best known to American audiences as “Ursa” in the original Superman films, along with Conan the Destroyer and V, legendary actress Sarah Douglas has teamed with award-winning writer-director Kenneth Mader (Passing Darkness, Carnivore) and rising star Courtney Hope (Mob Rules, Prowl) to launch a crowdfunding campaign for their independent feature film Displacement.

The 30-day campaign launched live on Indiegogo today with a goal of $179,000.

Already in production, being funded out-of-pocket to date with over $200,000 in deferments and equity deals in place, 'Displacement' tells the story of a young physics student (Courtney Hope) who must find a way to reverse a deadly quantum time anomaly and solve the murder of her fiancée (to be played by Christopher Backus) while battling short-term memory loss and time slips caused by the event.

Inspired by the loss of writer-director Kenneth Mader’s mother to cancer and the inability to grant her final wish, the script has been called “brilliant” and “amazing” by industry insiders.  Early footage incorporated into their crowdfunding video proves quite compelling and emotionally engaging, with stellar performances being delivered by Ms Hope and Ms Douglas. Once completed the film is sure to dazzle on the festival circuit and wow audiences worldwide.
