By: H Media PR To be executed in stages, H Media will be utilising the company’s own array of media platforms, with their flagship publication The International Halal SME Report Directory (ISBN 978-967-10758- First published in September 2011, the 208-page industry guide chronicles the five main sub sectors of halal industry; namely Agriculture, Manufacturing, Services, Tourism, and Finance. Industry experts also contribute business guidance articles on multiple areas of interests within the business of halal. “The book is designed to benefit any industry player, especially small and medium-sized businesses, that looks to secure stronger relationship with global players and elevate their business image and increase their overall prospects within the burgeoning halal market,” said Kamarul Aznam Kamarozaman, editorial director of H Media. Businesses can highlight their brands within the Premium Halal Company and Halal Product Showcase segments of the book. Companies will also be able to explain in detail about its halal commitment and related operational framework, thus strengthening their top-of-the mind recall amongst halal consumers worldwide. The first volume featured key sectoral studies plus interviews and analysis of key trends and industry observations within halal as an industry. It also include an interview with Dato Mukhriz Tun Mahathir, former deputy minister of International Trade and Industry Malaysia, plus business listings of over 1,000 halal-certified manufacturers, retailers and service providers from all over the world. Published bi-annually, the International Halal SME Report Directory reaches out to the international retailers and buyers in at least 20 countries via their own local halal certification agencies. In addition, a number of business chambers of commerce, trade representatives, embassies and government agencies have agreed to receive the book and help distribute it to their own members. The second volume (issue 2013/14) will be published by January 2014 and will host several new additions, whilst retaining most of its cutting edge content and key information for use by the producers, retailers and service providers worldwide. “We are aiming to print 10,000 copies and the new issue will also be accompanied with a CD that lists all the halal-certified businesses in one neat package. SMEs need to be promoting in a platform that speaks to the right target audience and as far as halal industry is concerned, that platform is this book,” he said.
