IHG celebrated Global Service Week in Vietnam and Cambodia

Vietnam & Cambodia, 10 June to 14 June 2013, InterContinental Hotel Group (IHG) launched its annual Global Service Week Celebration.
 
HO CHI MINH, Viet Nam - June 17, 2013 - PRLog -- Four years ago, the former Chairman of the IHG Owners Association came up with a very unique and thoughtful idea to say thank you to each and every member of the IHG family who have work so hard every day at the frontlines of all IHG businesses. However, it wasn’t just a simple thank you; he created a week-long concept to show appreciation for all the great work and things the staff and team do to create “great hotels guests love.” And that was how the IHG Global Service Week Celebration started. During this week, all IHG executives visit as many hotels and offices as they can and pass on their sincerest gratitude.

On 10th June, the kick-off celebration witnessed the participation of all IHG brand properties across Vietnam and Cambodia including InterContinental Asiana Saigon, InterContinental Hanoi Westlake, Crowne Plaza Danang and InterContinental Phnom Penh, to name a few. Hundreds of IHG associates took part in a flash-mob dance after a rendition of an upbeat Thai song and a remix of the famous Vietnamese folksong “Trống Cơm.” The performance drummed up plenty of excitement from the staff and well as the crowd.

The hotels’ management teams also took this opportunity to recognise the hard work, dedication and contribution of every associate by giving out hugs and handshakes from along with an elaborate hotel-wide grand dinner.

According to Mr. Fergus Stewart, Director of Operations IHG Thailand and IndoChina who assumes full operational responsibility for current hotels all over Thailand and IndoChina, the Celebrate Service Week is a great opportunity where everyone can show their sincere appreciation to their teammates.

“This week was created to recognise and thank all the folks that bring our brands to life, satisfy our guests, and demonstrate countless acts of skill, grace and kindness every day. These associates, our associates, are our biggest asset and our biggest competitive edge,” he added.
