BOSTON - June 17, 2013 - PRLog -- Boston Interactive, a digital marketing agency, is thrilled to announce the launch of a new online property for the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum (civilrights.jfklibrary.org).  Dedicated in 1979, the JFK Library stands as a vibrant tribute to the life and times of the nation’s 35th president.

The JFK Library was looking to extend their educational impact to the online world with a special tribute to mark the 50th Anniversary of key milestones in the Civil Rights Movement during the Kennedy administration. Making the decision to launch a Civil Rights microsite, the Library partnered with Boston Interactive to create their new online property.

The new Civil Rights microsite, titled “1963-The Struggle for Civil Rights,” serves as an educational tool capable of engaging JFK Library’s diverse audience of students, educators, and the general public. It was important that the online property present facts in a compelling way that would not influence users but instead encourage them to draw their own conclusions. To achieve this, Boston Interactive created a visually dynamic user experience that showcases the Library’s collections through an interactive, mosaic timeline interface. The online property was built using a modern content management system in order to allow JFK Library staff to easily make updates as well as reuse the site template for future microsites.

“Our goal for the new JFK Library microsite was to deeply engage users by delivering a highly interactive, online experience.” said Chuck Murphy, CEO of Boston Interactive. “By developing the timeline interface and integrating hundreds of multimedia assets, we are pleased to help the organization achieve this while ultimately strengthening their online presence.”
