LIBERTYVILLE, Ill. - June 19, 2013 - PRLog -- Libertyville Chevrolet (https://plus.google.com/104963670217871060952?hl=en) is proud to announce that the next model year of Chevy vehicles will offer even more convenient features. General Motors announced in a press release that the OnStar RemoteLink Mobile App, which allows you to do a number of things, including remotely start the engine, unlock doors, and activate the horn and lights, will be a standard factory installed feature on many vehicles for 2014. Chevy drivers will be able to enjoy the new RemoteLink app and associated features for free for five years from the date of purchase.

The RemoteLink app effectively makes a smartphone into a sophisticated key fob control. This announcement marks the biggest deployment of mobile services and smartphone integration from any automaker. General Motors will provide this service even if drivers decide to opt out of all other OnStar services.

"We know our customers value remote services," said Mary Chan, the GM Global Connected Customer President, "GM owners request remote door unlock assistance through OnStar more than 60,000 times each month, so it makes sense for us to offer RemoteLink Key Fob Services to enable customers to lock, unlock or start their vehicle from anywhere they have a wireless or cellular connection."

The remote start function is the most popular function of the RemoteLink app, followed by the remote unlock feature. This gives users the power to unlock their vehicles, even if they’ve managed to lock their keys inside. The RemoteLink app also gives users an alternative way to access other OnStar services, such as turn-by-turn directions, roadside assistance, or emergency requests.

Customers will easily be able to download the app after driving home in a new eligible Chevrolet vehicle. The application is free and can be used on one or several compatible smart phones, allowing families to share vehicles and still have access to the same functions.
To find out more about the vehicles eligible for the free RemoteLink service with OnStar, buyers can visit Libertyville Chevrolet at 1001 S. Milwaukee Ave. in Libertyville, IL. Libertyville Chevrolet is a full service Chevy dealership serving Chicagoland (http://www.libertyvillechevrolet.com/contact-us/) with new and used vehicle sales and maintenance and repair services.
