Global Pharmacy Canada responds to Ontario Courts 6/10/13 ruling

We are living in a world where increasingly consumers are demanding choice and lower costs.  To meet customer needs,  Global Pharmacy Canada works with a network of licensed pharmacies, primarily in Europe and Asia, who are fully licensed and accredited in their own jurisdictions.   Their jurisdictions have strong regulatory oversight.  The pharmacies buy quality drugs from reputable manufacturers, often at a significantly reduced price as compared to the prices available elsewhere.  The Global Pharmacy model allows this price savings to be shared with end consumers.  Thousands of customers have benefitted from the safe, efficient and cost effective business model Global Pharmacy has developed.  The company’s operation of putting willing buyers in touch with safe, licensed foreign pharmacies is both safe and legitimate. There is nothing rogue or “fake” about Global Pharmacy’s operation.  

Global Pharmacy believed that since the pharmacies the company deals with are already regulated in their home jurisdictions - and as the customers do not reside in Ontario nor Canada - that there should be no prohibition on  a call centre in Ontario providing the support functions it did.  At the same time, the relevant legislation was drafted much before the developments in international marketing that have occurred in recent years .  Unfortunately, the Ontario Courts have ruled that under that legislation the present operations of the call center cannot continue in Ontario.  Although Global Pharmacy is disappointed by this decision it respects that the decision was made by the courts in a careful, considered and fair manner.  

Global Pharmacy Canada will continue to operate and serve its worldwide customers with its network of licensed pharmacies, and using its other global call centers located outside of Canada. Global Pharmacy Canada would like to thank all its customers worldwide for their ongoing support.
