Cresco Concrete Products Expands its Offering of Innovative Lightweight Concrete Wall and Pier Caps

HOUSTON - June 26, 2013 - PRLog -- Made from steel reinforced lightweight cellular concrete, wall and pier caps from Cresco Concrete Products, LLC are less than half the weight of conventional concrete caps of the same size.  The benefits of this new system include ease of handling, reduced freight cost and, being easier to cut and shape, it also offers enhanced workability.  Pier caps typically top columns and pillars while wall caps, also known as wall coping, complete walls of brick, block and cast concrete.

Since these new caps use less sand and cement than conventional caps they are considered a greener option and can contribute to LEED credit opportunities for the architect or designer.  “These caps are very attractive, durable and a fraction of the cost of similar cast stone caps” says Peter Thompson, Cresco’s Technical Advisor.

Cresco has significantly expanded its selection of pier caps and now offers more than 55 different designs.  Styles include pyramid, domed, beveled and flat top.  Sizes range from 7 ¾” square to 40 ¼” square.  The number of wall cap options has also increased to more than 54 designs.  Styles include gable, beveled, flat top and rectangular.  Sizes range from 5 ½” wide to 20” wide.  Custom designs and sizes are also possible for both wall and pier caps.
