By: StreetPass NYC On Monday, July 8th we invite all Animal Crossing fans to the Lawn Area (the lawn and surrounding gravel area) of Bryant Park at 42nd Street and 6th Avenue (enter from the 6th Avenue side of the park) from 4:00pm to 11:00pm. Animal Crossing: New Leaf mayors will enter a world of pure imagination as they enjoy a screening of "Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory" (1971, 98 minutes, Warner Bros.). This adaptation of Roald Dahl's classic children's book "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" stars Gene Wilder as the eccentric genius Willy Wonka, who leads five lucky children on a magical tour of his candy palace. The film is regarded as a cult classic, and ensures a scrumdiddlyumptious time for viewers of all ages. "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory" is part of the HBO Bryant Park Summer Film Festival, an annual series of free, outdoor public film screenings that celebrates "stars under the stars". The gravel area surrounding the lawn will open at 4:00pm, while the lawn opens at 5:00pm, allowing Animal Crossing: New Leaf mayors to mingle in each other's towns and enjoy some picnicking until the film begins at sunset. Look for the StreetPass NYC flag (pictured on our blog) to find our main camping spot inside the park lawn for the screening. For the protection of all Film Festival attendees, all bags, briefcases, backpacks, etc. will be inspected before entering the Lawn Area (should you leave the lawn area, all packages will inspected again upon re-entry). Wheelchair access to the Lawn Area is accessible through the ramps at the eastern end of the lawn, at both 40th and 42nd Street.
